HELLO & WELCOME!
The African Element (TAE) was founded in 2014 by Mary Jay as an African print fabrics distributor.
Mary Jay is a graduate of the prestigious Villioti Fashion Institute and the chief creative mind behind every TAE garment.
In 2018 TAE’s focus changed from being an African print distributor to selling ready-to-wear imported shoes and accessories, which birthed the brand Koko Diva – the holding company. It became apparent that TAE was losing its creative autonomy. To ensure that TAE’s creative energy remains in line with its signature brand synergy, a strategic decision was taken to design bespoke and readymade clothing and accessories.
SERVICES
In 2020 The African Element was rebranded and partnered up with Madalo Mapundi of Ule Creations.
The objective of the partnership is to advocate for inclusivity and to promote a brand that will create awareness and job opportunities for Africans by Africans.
The partnership has yielded positive results as we’ve expanded our product offering to include men’s, women’s, children’s wear and textiles.
The year 2020 has been a true test of our passion and dedication towards our brand and we will continue to push to build our legacy.

The African Element’s vision is to grow into an international household brand.
We intend to provide our customers with the best shopping experience from beginning to end, with affordable payment methods, and fast, quality delivery.
